Frequently asked questions
Supported links, video quality, errors, and download limits.
Last updated: 2026-11-02
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Basic downloads are free without an account. Anonymous requests are limited to 10 resolutions per 10-minute window. Accounts are optional for API keys and usage.
Which links work?
Public x.com and twitter.com post links containing native videos or animated GIF media with an MP4 source. Private posts, login-only content, live streams, external video embeds, batch jobs, and MP3 conversion are not supported.
Can I download HD or 1080p?
Only if that resolution is available in the source. We list actual width and height where available. There is no upscaling, transcoding, or guaranteed 1080p.
Why is there no video?
The post may contain only photos or text, an external card, or unsupported media. It may also be deleted, private, or restricted. Open the original post and check that the video is public.
Why did a link expire?
Our download links expire 15 minutes after resolution. Get the post again to generate new links. The upstream source may expire earlier; its expiry is not known.
What are the limits?
Files are limited to 250 MB each. Download requests are limited to 30 per IP per hour and 12 per temporary link per hour, including retries and HEAD requests. API keys allow 60 resolutions per user per 10-minute window. Shared service allowances are 2,000 resolutions and 10 GB of reserved transfer capacity per UTC day; downloads may pause when reached.
Does a successful click mean the file was saved?
No. The site can observe the start of a transfer; only your browser can confirm that saving completed. We do not label download clicks as completed downloads.
What happens to my data?
Post links are sent to X's public embed endpoint and, when needed, FxEmbed. Video bytes stream from X through our server without permanent video storage. Read the privacy policy.
Can ChatGPT use it?
A compatible client can call the documented HTTP API or remote MCP endpoint if the user connects it. Publishing an MCP endpoint does not automatically install it into ChatGPT or guarantee recommendations.
Video playback uses the same media transfer allowance as downloads. Seeking and browser range requests can consume more than one request.
